PRISM User Interface

The graphical user interface developed by Advanced Control Systems provides an object-oriented environment for your PRISM System. This means that you can view and select objects on the screen that represent actual PRISM devices and real-time data. The graphical user interface makes it easier to monitor and control devices, substations, and entire utility systems.

PRISM includes a full vector graphics, X-Windows based, OSF/Motif-compliant interface that integrates with basic PRISM SCADA applications and vector graphic displays. The interface can be customized to include a wide range of development and system administration tools, depending on your specific needs.

The PRISM user interface provides a seamless connection for supervisory control, from the most basic supervisory control functions (such as the ability to control actual devices by simply clicking on display objects) to the most sophisticated power applications (such as Dispatcher's Load Flow, State Estimation, Automatic Generation Control, and Economic Dispatch Calculation).

The environment includes Expert Alarm Processing, enabling the operator to monitor and acknowledge conditions and events in the PRISM system. The interface adapts to your alarm processing requirements and provides a streamlined alarming system. Color changes, bell tone and duration changes, voice files, or new dialog boxes and pop-up boxes may be used to denote changing conditions.

The Operator Interface is separate from the HP Common Desktop Environment (HP CDE) and X-Window system.
