ATLANTA, GA, September 24, 2007 -- Advanced Control Systems (ACS), a leading global provider of smart grid solutions to the electric power industry, announced that it has delivered six Connex 30 substation manager upgrades for legacy Systems Northwest/Hathaway RTUs. “ACS offered us the ability to leverage installed I/O wiring and terminations with state-of-the-art communications infrastructure to keep costs down,” said Bill Ledwick, Detroit Edison senior engineer. “The ACS Connex 30 is providing a reliable solution for our substation integration needs.” In the past five years ACS has delivered over 300 upgrade systems for RTU’s from Systems Northwest/Hathaway, L&N, L&G TeleGyr, Moore Systems, Harris, ILEX, QEI, and Ferranti. Leading investor owned utilities that have deployed ACS substation upgrades include, among others, Detroit Edison, Nova Scotia Power, El Paso Electric, Oklahoma Gas & Electric, NSTAR, and Nevada Power.
