| Advanced Control Systems supplies substation integration/automation systems for International Transmission ATLANTA, Dec. 7, 2005- International Transmission Company of Novi, Michigan, awarded a contract to Advanced Control Systems (ACS) for up to 150 substation integration/automation systems. The blanket agreement was worth an estimated $1.8M;delivery of the systems was recently completed. Working closely with International Transmission and their contractors, ACS accelerated manufacturing and testing in order to compress an already aggressive schedule down to 12 months. The first systems were delivered in July 2004; an average of 12 units per month followed. International Transmission awarded the contract to Advanced Control Systems due to their advanced technology offering, rapid delivery capabilities, and competitive pricing. The long-standing ACS reputation for high-quality, reliable products and dedicated customer support were also factors in the decision. According to Steve Stout, Principal Engineer at International Transmission, "Advanced Control Systems meets and in many cases exceeds the high standards of product reliability and quality that International Transmission demands of its suppliers." Carlos Wentworth, Senior Technician for International Transmission, added, "Their performance, in terms of customer service and satisfaction from the start of this project has surpassed that of other competing vendors." The project uses ACS substation systems configured in five general sizes. These range from relatively small (single 32-bit CPU Ethernet Gateway with 7000-point capacity and minimum local I/O) to very large (Ethernet Gateway and multiple 32-bit Quad Serial IED/Master Gateways, each capable of handling a 7000 point database across any or all ports, with an abundance of local I/O). Dave Moore, president and COO of Advanced Control Systems remarked, "Our team's success over this past year with International Transmission has reinforced our conviction that our substation automation products lead the market in functionality and performance for the largest and most demanding applications. We'll be announcing several new IOU customer wins in coming weeks that highlight our momentum in this segment of the utility market." |
