AutoPilot is a refinement of our work on the world's first fully-integrated distribution automation system. The success of this audacious Taiwanese venture has spawned similar projects in the U.S. and the Middle East. If you have access to real-time information, you can calculate real-time losses due to line transformer overload or feeder imbalance. You can determine surplus feeder capacity during high load conditions. And you can avoid uncertainty by scheduling maintenance and outages based on accurate, timely information.
