Advanced Control Systems Named “Best New Product” Buildy Award Finalist for FASTapps™ Smart Grid Solution

Advanced Control Systems (ACS), a leading global provider of smart grid solutions to the electric power industry, announced its FASTapps™ self-healing feeder automation system has been named a finalist in the “Best New Product” category of the fifth annual Buildy Awards, part of Connectivity Week and the Gridwise Expo.

The “Best New Product” award honors a manufacturer whose new product or service overcame a significant challenge, enhanced, or simplified the smart device connectivity process.  ACS marketing director Jeff Smith remarked, “We are honored to be named a finalist for this award.  It’s gratifying to see FASTapps gaining recognition as an innovative and effective tool for utilities seeking increased security, quality, and reliability of their power delivery.” ...

Advanced Control Systems Delivers FASTapps Self-Healing Feeder Automation System For Oklahoma Gas & Electric

Advanced Control Systems (ACS), a leading global provider of smart grid solutions to the electric power industry, announced today at the IEEE PES T&D Conference and Exposition that it has successfully completed delivery and acceptance testing of its FASTapps™ feeder automation system for Oklahoma City-based OG&E Electric Services.

Scott Milanowski, OG&E Lead Strategic Planner said, “ACS has successfully delivered dozens of remote terminal unit upgrade systems to the company over the past several years. Enhancement of these substation systems with FASTapps significantly increases the operational benefits from our installed equipment base, and it provides us with an efficient approach to self-healing automation of our distribution system feeders.” ...

Advanced Control Systems Announces Multi-Year Substation Automation Upgrade Program for Sierra Pacific Power

Advanced Control Systems (ACS), a leading global provider of smart grid solutions to the electric power industry, announced that it has delivered several Connex 30 substation automation upgrade systems to Sierra Pacific Power. ACS delivered the systems as part of a multi-year contract that Sierra Pacific Power recently awarded to ACS following a competitive market evaluation.  Sierra Pacific Power, the electric utility that serves most of northern Nevada and the Lake Tahoe area of California, plans to roll out ACS Connex 30 substation managers for all obsolete and new substation RTUs. 

Over the past five years, ACS has delivered more than 300 upgrade systems for RTUs from Systems Northwest/Hathaway, L&N, L&G TeleGyr, Moore Systems, Harris, ILEX, QEI, and Ferranti. Leading investor-owned utilities that have deployed ACS upgrade solutions include, among others, Detroit Edison, Nova Scotia Power, El Paso Electric, Oklahoma Gas & Electric, NSTAR, Nevada Power, and Sierra Pacific Power...
